Rafa Uses a Disguised Nike Court Ballistec 4.3 Instead of “Redefined” Lunar Ballistec Shoes
Earlier this week I mentioned about how Rafa’s new shoes – the Nike Lunar Ballistec – is different from the ones in stores. In general, it’s not an unusual thing for professional athletes to have their performance footwear modified for even more performance, comfort and fit in exchange for less durability. I had expected Nadal to continue to use the “redefined” version of the Lunar Ballistecs throughout the season, but he pulled out a similar move to what LeBron James did this season and rolled back to his previous season shoes – the Nike Air Max Courtballistec 4.3. Whether, it’s Rafa being simply superstitious about something, he does that a lot, or maybe there’s a performance issue with the new shoes, Nike decided to dye the CB 4.3 in the exact same colorway as they use for the LB’s. Obviously, we caught that… that’s what we do have, but I guess it’s all good if it means more wins for Nadal in the ongoing Australian Open tournament.
